Mandi Cody works in our customer care department. She’s the first person you see when you walk in the door to our physical office in Eugene Oregon. And today, if you walked in to see us, you’d probably notice something a little different about Mandi.
What have business planning and reducing pollution in Angkor Wat, Cambodia have in common? Not a lot you may think but you’d be wrong! In fact one of the participants in this years McKinsey Mekong Business Plan Challenge 2011 (co-sponsored by Palo Alto Software) wrote a fantastic business plan seeking to encourage the adaption of environmentally friendly transport in the region.
Teri’s second-in-command on the Documentation Team is Sara Prentice Manela. Sara has an encyclopedic knowledge of all of our software. As help author, she literally wrote the book on it for us.
When not explaining the difference between assets and expenses, or extracting business lessons from hit movies, Sara keeps busy chasing her cats, her 4 year old son, and the local raccoons and possums out of her garden.
Behind every great author is a great editor. And behind our great new Sales and Marketing Pro software, is our great documentation team. Surrounding themselves with Thesauruses, Dictionaries, and other books with lots of words in them is just one of the ways to identify what their jobs are at the company. The other being their ability to find an errant semi colon in 30 seconds flat.
Making it through the final push to launch Sales and Marketing Pro while in the midst of his annual junk food embargo was no easy feat for Jay, our copywriter and resident word guy. His love of sweets and baked goods is legendary. So imagine him nibbling carrots and celery while the rest of the marketing team was elbows-deep in the goody-drawer. That’s what we call self-control.
Peter works in our Business Development office. He works on all of the partner relationships and is responsible for the awesome offers and resources we provide in our software.
Peter has been with Palo Alto Software for about a year now. He and his wife came to Oregon from the East coast. NYC to be exact, where he worked at Nickelodeon, a division of Viacom. Peter has a wicked wit that keeps the rest of us on the marketing team rolling in laughter. So far the only thing we have found issue with is his irrational dislike of eggplant.
In the Sales and Marketing Library you will find a collection of articles on everything from pricing, to customer service, to creating a marketing forecast. The library also includes 2 eBooks — one about social media and one about search engine optimization. Rounding out the library, there is a special offer to purchase a copy of the Duct Tape Marketing book for only the cost of shipping.
Our Vice President of Marketing, Marci Hansen, is something of a marketing rock star. She’s worked for some big names, including Eddie Bauer, Amazon.com, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), and in 2005 was named Brandweek’s Guerilla Marketer of the Year. So when she was the featured speaker at the Eugene area Smart-ups PubTalk on January 20, it was only mildly surprising that the event was sold out.
